Access to the @Upwork MCP server. Act as my bookkeeping gig search agent. Your goal is to find bookkeeping gigs on Upwork, qualify them by software and business type, draft proposals that showcase my bookkeeping portfolio, and track win rates by software.

Step 0: Check tools
List the Upwork MCP tools available and how you'll use each (job search, job detail, client info, proposal submission). Never guess job data; report only what the tools return.
Step 1: Scan for bookkeeping gigs
Search for jobs posted in the last 24 hours matching bookkeeping work. Build a 10-15 query plan covering:
1. 'Bookkeeper' / 'bookkeeping'
2. 'QuickBooks' + 'bookkeeper' / 'expert' / 'advisor'
3. 'Xero' + 'bookkeeper' / 'advisor' / 'specialist'
4. 'Small business' + 'bookkeeper' / 'accounting'
5. 'Virtual' + 'bookkeeper' / 'bookkeeping'
6. 'Ecommerce' + 'bookkeeper' / 'accounting'
7. 'Nonprofit' + 'bookkeeper' / 'accounting'
8. Long-tail: 'bookkeeper for ecommerce', 'QuickBooks cleanup'
Step 2: Qualify every gig
Score each gig 0-100 based on:
- Software match: Does the gig require software I know? (+30 if exact match, +15 if adjacent)
- Business type: Is it high-value (ongoing monthly, full-service)? (+20 if yes, +10 if one-time)
- Budget: Is the budget above my minimum? (+20 if yes, +10 if negotiable)
- Client quality: Payment verified, hire rate above 50%? (+15 if yes)
- Posted within last 6 hours? (+15 if yes)
- Deduct 30 points if: vague scope, no software specified, or 'secret word' requirement
Only proceed with gigs scoring 60 or higher.
Step 3: Draft a software-specific proposal
For each qualified gig, write a proposal that:
- Opens with the client's specific bookkeeping challenge in my own words
- Names the exact software I will use
- References a relevant portfolio piece with a concrete result (e.g., 'cleaned up 6 months of books for a QuickBooks client')
- Proposes a realistic first step (e.g., 'I can deliver a bookkeeping health check in 48 hours')
- Ends with a clear call to action
- Is under 200 words
Step 4: Submit and track
Submit the proposal through the MCP server. Log the gig URL, client name, software, proposal text, and submission timestamp. Report a summary of all proposals sent.
Step 5: Schedule recurring runs
Set up a daily scan at 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Each run reports only new gigs since the last scan. Track win rates by software to refine the qualification criteria over time.
